Karma Pink at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2014 - PSFW

Karma showed a collection from its Karma Pink brand at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week this year. Karma Pink is Maheen Kardarali's retail pret brand and has always had a strong wedding wear line - in fact it's one of those places you always head with out-of-towners for last-minute wedding wear. Karma Pink's signature wedding wear features vibrant colours, kamdani and gota. This collection was entitled "Karma ki Rajasthani Kahani" and was a step above Karma Pink's usual wedding fare.

While the collection featured the contemporary cuts that we've come to expect from Karma Pink, the level of detailing on many of the pieces was far higher than is usual on their pret line.

Using gota, mirror-work, kamdani, chunri and sequins the detailed embroideries featured parrots, peacocks and elephants as well as paisleys and floral motifs. The collection used cotton for much of the wedding wear, an uber-fashionable trend that is smart in the summer heat.

The collection featured jumpsuits, palazzos, jodhpur pants and more. The show was energetic and well put together but there was little of the pageantry and oomph we expect from Atelier Karma. Since it was a Karma Pink collection, the brand obviously firmly had its retail outlets in mind. From that point of view, it was a creative, wearable collection that should sell well.
